My Country, My Country is an Academy Award-nominated documentary filmed in Iraq. Filmmaker Laura Poitras spent over eight months alone in Iraq filming this documentary. The film shows life in Iraq for average Iraqis under U.S. occupation. Poitras focus primarily on Dr. Riyadh, an Iraqi medical doctor, father of six and Sunni political candidate.
